The official authority of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will set the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2014 Exam Pattern. The exam pattern is also regarded as the test pattern or paper pattern. The exam pattern or test pattern is made available or is disclosed to the applicants so that they can have an idea about the pattern of the question paper as whole and also have an idea about the various aspects attached with the exam patter. The various aspect attached with the JEE Main 2014 Exam pattern are associated with the marking scheme, total sections, no. of questions in each section etc
The JEE Main 2014 Exam Pattern is jointly decided by the central board of secondary education (CBSE) and HRD Ministry of Government of India.
Below is the brief synopsis of JEE Main 2014 Exam Pattern:
• As per the exam pattern, there will be two papers
• Paper 1 will be for admission in Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology
• Paper 2 will be for admission in Bachelor of Architecture
• Both Paper 1 & 2 will be conducted in both online and offline mode
• The online mode is conducted on the computer while, the offline mode will be conducted with the help of paper and pen
• The paper 1 will be conducted in online mode on 9, 11, 12 and 19 April 2014
• While in offline mode, the paper 1 will be conducted on 6 April 2014
• The paper 1 in online mode will be conducted in two shifts. The shift one will start from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.
• While, the paper 1 conducted in offline mode will be conducted in only one shift i.e. from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
• The JEE Main 2014 exam will be conducted over a time span of three hours
• The paper 1 question paper will comprise questions from Physics, Math and Chemistry subjects
• There is a provision of negative marking and as per the marking scheme, one fourth mark shall be deducted in case of incorrect answer
• All the three sections i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Math will carry the equal marks
